Fresh out of the military, the illustrious With Ross Podcast began on December 29, 2019 on a park bench in sunny Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
The only equipment I had was my cellphone and it’s built-in microphone.
The only audience I had was the iguana sitting on the other side of the bench.
Over 150 episodes later, not much has changed except that the iguana no longer listens to the show…
I started the podcast as an audio blog to share with my friends and family as I embarked on what I planned would be a multi-year trip around Central/South America and Southeast Asia.
The universe had other plans.
Just three months into my trip, COVID made travel not fun.
But the podcast didn't stop.
I got stuck in COVID lockdowns in Kathmandu, Nepal.
After three wonderful and wild months in Nepal, I returned to the US and the podcast pivoted into a business show as I bought, ran, and eventually sold a doggy daycare.
Recently, the show has covered a lot of Mexico topics as well as technology and AI.
I've had an absolute blast making it and it's something I plan to do for the rest of my life...even if that iguana never listens to another episode.
