What I'm up to now.
Currently obsessed with all things AI. I'm currently on a mission to do what I call “solve video editing.” I'm building out a stack that will agentically take a raw video, transcribe it, polish the audio, cut it, and then add motion graphics to the whole thing. One: fast, two: cheap, and three: good.
Splitting time between Austin and Mexico City with my wife and our Siberian Husky, Elvis.
For many years, I was obsessed with digital privacy. You could not find me and my real name anywhere online. Not quite tin-foil hat level but close. Then, I realized how much value I was getting from people I respect online who were openly sharing their ideas, their philosophies, and their lessons learned. I am a better man from the examples and ideas I have absorbed online. I was being selfish, now I am opening up. Derek Sivers says it more articulately than I can here.

- Went to Los Angeles for the ALL IN Podcast Summit – met some amazing and ambitious people!
- Went to Cafe Expo in CDMX – drank entirely too much coffee!
- AOT Concert with my wife for our anniversary
- Four clients now for R8R Studio – continuing to grow the team and business
- Continuing to train for HYROX, study Spanish, and grow the business!
August
- Training for my next HYROX with the assist of an AI diet & training coach
- Taking an in-person course on video editing (mainly as an exercise in improving my Spanish!)
- Went to a number of AI events and got deeper into video generation and vibe coding tools
- Reading the Bible from cover to cover in Spanish (about 25% done)
- Writing a book (more on this soon!)

- Spun off my editing/YouTube management service as a separate business

- Spent three weeks in the US – WA, Philly, NYC, and DC
- Learning Calculus – using Math Academy for this
- Second month of taking a filmmaking course in CDMX to learn more about video (but mostly to improve my Spanish)

- Set a goal of learning Calculus – using Math Academy. Finished Mathematical Foundations I with 43.5 hours of study.
- Reading fiction – read two Corey Doctorow books (Little Brother & Picks & Shovels)
- Taking a filmmaking course in CDMX to learn more about video (but mostly to improve my Spanish)
- Went to a Sundance Film Festival showing in CDMX. Super fun!
- Working with a friend to build a software product that integrates with Descript

- Traveled to Indiana for a meetup for a podcast I've listened to for years
- Roadtripped around central Mexico – explored Cholula, Puebla, and Orizaba
- Started coding again and making apps using Claude Code (vibecoding)

- Almost lost my dog – his spleen ruptured and he had emergency surgery (he's doing well now!)
